Favour Ofili: Nigeria's 'Star Girl' graduates as a standout student-athlete from Louisiana State University

Nigeria's record holder in the 200m will be missed in the college scene after graduating from Louisiana State University as one of their best student-athletes in school history.

Nigeria's highly-rated speedster Favour Ofili, has graduated as a standout student-athlete from Louisiana State University (LSU).

Ofili, who is also known as 'Star Girl' by Nigerian athletics faithful, had an iconic career as a student-athlete at LSU, winning several titles and setting several records to her name.

The 200m African indoor record holder announced the end of her college journey with a post on her Instagram page.

"Today marks not just the culmination of years of hard work and dedication but a testament to the support, guidance, and unwavering belief from cherished mentors, friends, and family. I am immensely grateful to God for the strength and blessings that paved this journey and to every individual who contributed to my growth here at LSU. Your encouragement fueled my determination, your wisdom shaped my perspective, and your presence made every challenge conquerable and every success sweeter. Thank you all for being a part of this incredible chapter in my life. 💜💛," wrote Ofili.

The school also took to their official social media pages to appreciate one of their most faithful servants.

In August, the 20-year-old made it known she had professionally signed for sports manufacturing company Adidas, after changing her Instagram bio to professional athlete for the sports company. She also posted a new training video in Adidas kits - further confirming the news.

Ofili has Personal Best times of 10.93s in the 100m and 21.96s in the 200m, making her one of the brightest prospects in the events for the future.

After graduating from LSU, the talented sprinter will be looking forward to many successful years as a professional athlete, just like her predecessors Tobi Amusan and Blessing Okagbare.
