'We deserve it' — Eagles star Mateta delighted after teaching Amorim, Man Utd bitter lesson
Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta was thrilled to score a brace in his side's 2-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Frenchman's goals in the 64th and 89th minutes sealed a well-deserved victory for the Eagles.
"I'm feeling fantastic!" Mateta said.
"We won these three points, we worked hard, and I am very happy."
The 27-year-old has been on fire Since Oliver Glasner took over, scoring 23 Premier League goals, a feat only surpassed by Erling Haaland, Alexander Isak, Cole Palmer, and Mohamed Salah.
Mateta credited his team's victory to their careful planning and execution.
"We know how [Man Utd] play with the new manager; we worked on a plan during the week, and we stuck to the plan," he said. "We listened to the gaffer and worked hard, and I think we deserve this win."
"I just put my head down and worked hard," he said. "I sometimes think, when you do that, you get the reward."
