Ten Hag reveals he is 'waiting for' two players who will transform Man Utd's season
Erik ten Hag believes Manchester United's fortunes will turn around once left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia return from injury.
The manager is under pressure winning just 3 out of 10 games this season, a situation that as left the Red Devils in 14th place.
Shaw has been sidelined all season with a calf issue, while Malacia hasn't played since summer 2023 due to a knee injury.
Ten Hag previously ruled out their returns before the October international break.
Ten Hag on Manchester United's struggles
When asked about Diogo Dalot's makeshift left-back role, Ten Hag explained:
"Why Dalot at left back? For the patterns I prefer in this moment, Diogo [over Noussair Mazraoui]. Both, of course, are right full backs."
He emphasized the importance of a natural left-footed left-back:
"For a long time, we've had a personnel issue there. We will improve as a team if we get a consistent left-footed left full-back.
We are waiting for Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia to return to the squad – that will definitely help consistent performance levels."
