Alex Baena denies making incendiary comments before being attacked

Baena was accused of making inflammatory remarks to incite Valverde, causing the Real Madrid star to stalk and attack him in the parking lot of the Santiago Bernabeu after Villarreal’s 3-2 win on Saturday.

According to several reports, Baena had taunted the Real Madrid star about the possible loss of his first child during a Copa del Rey fixture in January and reiterated the insult on Saturday in their LaLiga clash, but the Spanish midfielder has now denied ever saying such.

It was alleged that Baena had told Valverde “Cry now that your son is not going to be born,” when the Real Madrid man suffered a bad challenge during their Copa del Rey encounter, but the Spain U21 international has flatly denied those allegations in a recent comment.

After the victory over Real Madrid, Baena took to social media platform Instagram to share his side of the story, confirming that the attack had taken place while denying the comments being credited to him.

Baena confirms Valverde attack as Villarreal lodge complaint

He posted a picture of himself at the Bernabeu during the game with a caption that read, “Very happy with the team's impressive victory at a venue like the Santiago BernabĂ©u, but at the same time very sad for the aggression I suffered after the game and surprised by what is being said about me. IT IS COMPLETELY FALSE THAT I SAID THAT.”
