Toluwalase Arokodare: Nigerian giant off the mark for 10-man Genk in Belgium

It was a game of substitutes at the Cegeka Arena as KRC Genk and Anderlecht shared the spoils in the Jupiler.

Nigerian forward Toluwalase Arokodare was one of the heroes for his side as Anderlecht held their hosts to a 1-1 draw on Sunday. 

Tolu came off the bench to help Genk snatch point with a remarkable late show in Genk.

Toluwalase shines for Genk

The home side hoped to return to winning ways after falling to a narrow defeat in the Europa Conference League in midweek.

However, things started on a bad note for the hosts when they were reduced to ten men following Christopher Bonsu’s dismissal after two bookable offences.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, Genk held on until Anderlecht found the breakthrough when substitute Francis Amuzu came off the bench to fire them in front in the 70th minute.

Just when the visitors thought they had done enough, Nigerian giant, Toluwalase, came off the bench to steal a share of the spoils for Genk with a towering header in added time. 

It was Tolu’s first goal of the season in five matches and what a time to get off the mark for the new season.
