‘This is my club’ – Arsenal’s Martinelli signs extension until 2027

Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year contract extension that commits him to the Gunners until 2027.

Arsenal announced the extension on Twitter with a video of the 21-year old forward talking about his love for Arsenal.

The Brazilian affirmed his happiness at playing for the club he loves and for the supporters who love him.

Martinelli in the announcement video said, “This is my club. I love everything about Arsenal. I want to stay. I was born a long way from north London but as soon as I got here, the supporters made me feel welcome.”

“It is about more than football. I feel the pride every day that comes from being a Gunner. I feel at home and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.” He added before finishing off sweetly saying, “I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else”.

Martinelli has been with Arsenal since joining from Ituano in 2019 and has slowly become one of the finest players on the club’s books.

Martinelli has been in great form in the 2022/23 season and has been one of the main drivers of Arsenal’s title challenge.

He has scored seven goals and assisted two more to help Mikel Arteta’s men to the top of the table in what they hope will be their first Premier League winning season since 2004.
