Super Eagles defender warns Galatasaray star not to injure Osimhen in training

A comical exchange between Super Eagles duo Victor Osimhen and Kenneth Omeruo is making the rounds on the internet.

The 25-year-old striker recently moved to Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig and has been sharing updates from training on his social media. Ex-Chelsea star Omeruo commented on one such post, which resulted in an interesting exchange. 

The former Napoli man posted a still of himself in training, motioning to evade a slide tackle from a teammate. 

Omeruo replied to the post, and in broken Nigerian English, he joked, warming the player to stop tackling Osimhen. 

The former Lille striker replied, saying, “He's a Lion, he knows how to play well.”

The interaction has generated buzz amongst Galatasaray fans, who appreciate Osimhen praising one of their youngsters. 

The Super Eagles ace has taken to life in Turkey well, and although he is yet to score, having played only one match so far, he has registered an assist, and his infectious passion has endeared him to the Cim-Bom fans. 

Meanwhile, Osimhen has received plaudits from a former Besiktas player after the Nigerian made an impression on his Galatasaray debut.

Former Turkey winger Nihat Kahveci has heaped praise on Osimhen’s ability and his goal-scoring threat.

Speaking to Yenisafak via Complete Sports, he said, “I didn’t see Osimhen as lacking in physicality. He showed what an athletic player he is.
