The world leader stunned her fans, rocking her natural hair for the first time this season while competing.

Speaking to Real Talk with Tee, the American said: “Oh my God. I told my coach at the beginning of the season that if I went 10.6, I would wear my natural hair because he loves my naturalness and everybody loves it."

"When I won the World Championships with a championship record, I had to come out with my natural afro.”

Richardson has enjoyed a glamorous season this year, being beaten only twice in the 100m. She finished second at the Gyulai István Memorial, a Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix, and finished fourth at the Prefontaine Classic.

At the Prefontaine Classic, Shericka Jackson took top honours in both the 100m and 200m to end her season on a high.

However, Richardson stunned the Jamaican duo of Jackson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce to take the glory at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Fraser-Pryce, a multiple Olympic and World champion, has suffered an injury setback this season and was not in her best shape hence her poor run.

The 23-year-old is currently enjoying her off-season break and will be back soon to resume training ahead of the Olympic Games next year in Paris, France.
