Relegation-threatened Burnley use Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey's Fulham to shine
It was another day, another defeat to Burnley for Fulham as they dropped points against the Clarets again at Craven Cottage.
Nigeria internationals, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, were in action as the troubled Burnley came, saw and conquered them 2-0 on Saturday in the Premier League.
Iwobi and Bassey shine
While Fulham dropped three points, the Super Eagles duo of Iwobi and his compatriot, Bassey had good individual displays.
The 27-year-old Iwobi was one of a few Fulham players who finished the game with any form of credibility following a dull display.
Iwobi, who played from start to finish, created the most chances, three, made three key passes and completed 88% of his passes.
He also completed two dribbles, won 100% of his tackles and made six recoveries.
His compatriot, Bassey, also lasted the 90 minutes while picking up a yellow card.
Despite the yellow dent, the 23-year-old defender emerged as the most accurate passer after he completed 95% of his passes against Burnley.
He also created one chance, made one key pass and completed 100% of his dribbles while also making seven recoveries.
Burnley extend Fulham's run
Meanwhile, Burnley enjoyed a rare win as they defeated Fulham to extend their unbeaten run against the Cottagers to four matches.
Wilson Odobert was the hero of the day as he netted the opener and assisted the winner scored by defensive midfielder Sender Berge.
The win was Burnley’s third of the campaign, but fourth in the last five visits to Craven Cottage.
After winning back-to-back matches with a 5-0 scoreline, the defeat to Burnley ended a run of three successive home wins for Fulham.
