The arrival of the 26-year-old was a decision made by Real following a horrible injury to their first choice Thibaut Courtois.

Courtois was ruled out for several months after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in training ahead of the new season.

The LALIGA giants confirmed the news that the 30-year-old Belgian will undergo surgery to fix the damage to his left knee which will keep him out of action for months.
