Serie A side will expectedly end their pursuit of Super Eagles ace after landing a different target.

Roma have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Ajax for the transfer of burgeoning right-back talent Devyne Rensch, which effectively puts paid to their pursuit of Ola Aina.

Hence, they were said to have reprioritised their focus to Aina, given his contract situation. Per the report, Roma’s sporting director, Florent Ghisolfi, initiated contact with the players' camp to discuss a possible move. 

Ola Aina has been key to the Forest.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Roma have finally reached an agreement for their man, for a deal worth €6 million, including add-ons. 

Meanwhile, Roma are only one of the many suitors that have registered interest in the Super Eagles ace, however, Nottingham Forest are working hard to hand the former Torino man a new contract. 

Aina’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and as Pulse Sports reported, Forest have begun negotiations with the 28-year-old over an extension.
