The two players have been left out of manager Enzo Maresca's squad after failing to secure transfers away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

Sterling, following a disappointing loan spell at Arsenal last season, is understood to have rejected offers from both Napoli and Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, Disasi turned down approaches from Bournemouth and West Ham after learning of former club Monaco's interest in bringing him back.

As a result, Sterling and Disasi are stranded at Chelsea until at least the January transfer window and are currently training individually, away from the first-team squad.

PFA interferes with Sterling and Disasi’s issue

According to ESPN, Chelsea and the PFA are collaborating to ensure both players have access to proper training facilities and can maintain their fitness at the club's Cobham training ground.

The pair have also been offered designated coaches to help them prepare for a move in January, as their careers at Chelsea appear to be over.

Enzo Maresca confirmed their status in a press conference last week, stating, "They are Chelsea players because they have a contract with the club. At this moment, they are still training apart. The idea is to continue in exactly the same way."

"Since we started the season, I haven't seen one of them. I didn't see Renato (Veiga), I didn't see Axel (Disasi), I didn’t see Raheem (Sterling) because they train at a different time on a different pitch. I haven’t seen them since we started the season," he added.

When asked if there was a path back into the first team for them, Maresca gave a definitive answer: "With us? No."

Chelsea's next match is a trip to Manchester to face a struggling United side on Saturday evening.
