Osimhen is a great person - Former Chelsea star wants to win Turkish league with Super Eagles striker

Former Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has showered praise on Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen, acknowledging his quality after Osimhen's influential performance in Galatasaray's dominant 5-1 victory over Eyupspor on Sunday.

Osimhen spearheaded the Galatasaray attack in the Super Lig encounter, providing the assist for Roland Sallai's opening goal and later finding the net himself. Substitute Alvaro Morata then sealed the emphatic win with a quickfire brace.

Following the match, Morata, who came on in the 67th minute, was asked about his impressions of Osimhen.

The Spanish international didn't hesitate to express his admiration for the Nigerian striker.

“Osimhen is a great person and one of the best centre forwards in the world,” Morata stated, as quoted by Sports Digitale.

Morata also expressed his optimism for Galatasaray's title aspirations and his happiness in Turkey.

He said, “I hope we will all celebrate the championship together. This is an incredible country, my family is very happy here, I want it to continue like this.”

Galatasaray's commanding victory, inspired by Osimhen's contributions, sees them sitting comfortably at the top of the Turkish Super Lig table with 80 points, five points clear of Fenerbahce with just five games remaining. They are now within touching distance of securing another league title.
