Osimhen gains 100,000 followers after bagging 2 assists in 2 games for Galatasaray

Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen, is making headlines not just on the pitch but also in the digital realm.

Following his transfer from Napoli to Galatasaray, Pulse Sports reported Osimhen has witnessed an impressive surge in his Instagram following, gaining over 100,000 new followers after a stellar performance that included a crucial assist against Fenerbahce in his second appearance for the Turkish champions.

Osimhen found his former Napoli teammate Dries Mertens in the 28th minute to put the visitors 2-0 up at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.

The defending champions won the fixture 3-1 as they extended their lead at the top of the summit with 18 points, having won all six of their opening matches.

Osimhen's Instagram following surged from September 3 to September 15, accumulating more than 848,756 new followers during this brief period.

His impressive statistics has now seen him go level with fellow Nigerian footballer Henry Onyekuru as the most-followed Super Eagles player on the platform, with both boasting 5.1 million followers currently on their respective pages.
