‘Osimhen cannot do that’ — Chelsea fans react to Jackson's sensational performance against West Ham
Chelsea fans are now certain that they got the better deal by sticking with Nicolas Jackson instead of paying over the odds for Victor Osimhen this summer after the Senegalese striker’s impressive start to the new season.
Jackson stars in Chelsea rout over West Ham
The Senegalese striker scored twice and assisted Cole Palmer for Chelsea's third goal, helping the Blues climb to second place in the Premier League.

The former Villarreal forward celebrated his 50th Chelsea appearance, putting on a performance reminiscent of Blues legend Didier Drogba, guiding his team to a comfortable victory in the London derby.
Jackson’s first goal came from a swift counterattack, slotting the ball through goalkeeper Alphonse Areola’s legs after being setup by Jadon Sancho. His second goal followed shortly after, courtesy of a well-timed pass from Moises Caicedo, leaving West Ham’s defence exposed.
With two goals in the first 18 minutes, Jackson’s brace marked the quickest double by a Chelsea player in a Premier League match since Didier Drogba in 2005 and the fastest brace by a Blues star in any London derby.
Chelsea fans grateful to miss out on Osimhen
Following Chelsea’s win and Jackson’s performance, fans have now backed the formerly underfire striker against critics, especially those who compared him to Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen was strongly linked with Chelsea in the summer transfer window after Jackson’s indifferent debut season with the Blues, but the Senegalese striker now looks to be justifying the decision not to shaft him in favour of the Super Eagles striker.
Can osimhen do what Jackson just did?

Said it before and I'll say it again, Chelsea not investing in Victor Osimhen but instead trusting Nicolas Jackson who is on the same level is the best decision they made.

Some fans on X have gone so far as to question whether Osimhen would have been able to produce a performance as good as Jackson’s against West Ham, while others were already certain that the Nigerian striker would not have been able to do as well as the Senegalese.
osimhen don't put up that perforce or score those 2 Nicolas Jackson goals btw. https://t.co/yHgREOf4Nb

Who needs Osimhen when we've got Jackson? So only Haaland has more goals than Jackson?😂 The African striker is on fire, leaving the rest of the league in the dust. #ChelseaFC #CFC #PremierLeague #Jackson #Haaland #Osimhen #GoalMachine pic.twitter.com/Oak5T47PFr

Despite the jubilation from Chelsea fans over Jackson’s remarkable start to the season which has seen him register four goals and two assists in five matches, it remains to be seen whether the striker will be able to replicate Osimhen’s form with Napoli that grabbed the Blues’ interest.
