Not Messi or Ronaldo — Chelsea star Lauren James reveals favourite footballer

Lauren James is one of the most talented footballers in the Women's game and absolutely crucial to Chelsea and the England national team. 

Chelsea have been blessed with an abundance of talent in recent years including the just-retired Eden Hazard, who James reveals is her favourite ever player.

Speaking to Sky Sports pundit Karen Carney, James was asked who she prefers out of international superstars Messi and Ronaldo. 

She chose Messi over Ronaldo but quickly revealed that she preferred 'prime' Hazard over the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner. 

James went on to clarify that she did not choose Hazard because he played for Chelsea. 

"No, I just like the way he plays, just the way he dribbles. I still have Messi, but Hazard will always be my favourite."

Hazard’s spell at Real Madrid may have hurt his reputation, but his statistics at Chelsea were exceptional. In 352 games over seven seasons, the Belgian scored 110 goals.
