The Red Devils have reportedly sent scouts to watch the youngster play for Brighton, and are said to be prepared to pry him away from the seagulls.
The 18-year-old recently signed his first professional contract last October, a four-year deal, and interested clubs are expected to make a significant financial commitment to convince Brighton.
Ferguson is Brighton's youngest-ever debutant, and in his ten Premier League appearances this season, he has scored three goals and made two assists.
