Liverpool duo Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chaberlain are reportedly set to leave Anfield on free transfers at the end of what could end up being a disappointing campaign for the club.
Liverpool expecting key departures in the summer
Liverpool recently announced that fan favourite, Roberto Firmino, would be leaving the club at the end of his contract this summer, and if reports are to be believed, he will not be the only one leaving the Merseyside club.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain are two potential exits, while long-serving midfielder James Milner is yet to discuss his future with the club.
I expect both Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to follow Roberto Firmino and leave Liverpool on a free transfer this summer,” Romano said.
“Firmino, Keita and Oxlade will explore options soon but nothing is decided yet.”
Considering Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain are no longer hugely involved in Jurgen Klopp's plans, allowing them to leave and rebuilding the midfield makes sense.
Liverpool are reportedly looking at replacements in midfield. Mason Mount is a name that has been prominently mentioned and Jurgen Klopp is believed to be monitoring his situation at Chelsea closely.
