Paris Saint-Germain’s plans for the Ligue 1 Gameweek 28 fixture against Rennes have been negatively hampered by the news that defender Sergio Ramos will not be fit enough to play in the fixture.
PSG release growing injury list
Ramos was unable to complete PSG training on Thursday and was subsequently ruled out of the fixture as he recuperates from the injury that he first felt in PSG’s Ligue 1 game against Brest.
Ramos joins a growing list of injury absentees for PSG that is dominated by defenders, including Brazilian Marquinhos, Moroccan full-back Achraf Hakimi, and PSG’s other right-back, Nordi Mukiele.

Although Marquinhos, Hakimi, and Mukiele are not completely ruled out of the tie like Ramos, it will still be a race against time for them to be fit before Sunday’s match.
Ramos racing against time to prove PSG fitness
Ramos has been a mainstay in PSG’s backline throughout the 2022/23 season, missing only three matches (two through suspension), so his injury will certainly be a source of worry for Christophe Galtier, who will have to make yet more wide-reaching changes to his defence.
The injury also comes at a bad time for Ramos, who is currently in the last year of his PSG contract and will need to prove that his age will not hinder him from giving his best performances for more seasons.
