Kalidou Koulibaly is commonly considered one of the best modern central defenders, characterized by strength, speed and good reading of the game.

After a season as Napoli's main defensive leader, Koulibaly had a short-lived spell at Chelsea before becoming the defensive linchpin in the Saudi Pro League with Al- Hilal.

Born on 20 June 1991, in Saint-Die-des-Vosges, France, Koulibaly was a child of parents of Senegalese origins while growing up in a French-speaking environment, being a French citizen, but never losing touch with his Senegalese roots.
