Jereem Richards delivered a commanding performance in the men’s 300 metres at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, asserting his dominance from start to finish.

The world 400m silver medallist crossed the line in an impressive 32.14 seconds, showcasing both his speed and tactical execution on the indoor track.

Reigning Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles and Vernon Norwood came in second and third in respective times of 32.15 and 32.38 seconds, a personal best time.

Speaking after the race, Jereem Richards expressed his gratitude and credited his faith for his performance, explaining that training alongside Noah Lyles constantly pushes him to raise his standards.

Jereem Richards noted that watching Noah Lyles prepare at close range inspires him to stay focused and competitive, as he expects the American sprinter to consistently be among the toughest athletes on the track.

He added that Noah Lyles’ power and speed set a high benchmark, which helped drive his own performance on the day, contributing to one of the quickest races of his career and reinforcing his belief that the shared training environment played a key role in his success.

“Glory to God. Seeing Noah train, because we train together, is motivation. I know he’s going to be a strong competitor all the time,” Jereem Richards said.

“He is very strong and fast. I guess that was motivation going forward today to be successful. Second fastest time I’ve ever run.”

Jereem Richards explained that his main focus this season was to enjoy himself and keep things relaxed for now, without placing too much pressure on his performances until the moment truly demanded it.

Richards added that he is approaching his races with a calm mindset, allowing himself to enjoy the process, as he revealed where he will compete next.

He also mentioned that seeing his teammate Khaleb McRae claim victory had lifted his spirits and made him eager to test himself and see how far he could push his own performance.

“I’m just trying to have fun this year. Not take it too seriously yet, until it’s time to take it seriously. So I’m just chilling, just having fun,” he added.

“Tyson Indoor Invitational next, opening up with the 400s. My teammate, Khaleb Mcrae won today, so I’m excited to see what I can do.”
