How Osimhen has affected Jose Mourinho's transfer window

While their rivals Galatasaray have been making waves this summer transfer window, Fenerbahce have been somewhat quiet, albeit having signed Jhon Duran on loan from Al Nassr. 

Having lost consecutive league titles to their Istanbul rivals, one would expect Fenerbahce to make more splash in the market, but they have been sparsely linked with top targets. 

However, it seems to be on purpose, as Turkish football analyst Murat Asik said they were waiting to see if Galatasaray would be able to sign Osimhen. 

According to the sports journalist, Fenerbahce are confident they can compete with an Osimhen-less Galatasaray and will make a significant investment in the summer if the Nigerian joins Cim-Bom. 

“Fenerbahçe's management is waiting for Osimhen,” he said, per GsGazette. “If Osimhen joins Galatasaray, they'll make a lot of transfers accordingly, but if he doesn't, they think the current squad can be successful against Galatasaray. Ali Koç said this, and we're saying it too.

"Without Osimhen, Galatasaray will lose a lot of power. Galatasaray has Icardi, but the medical team says it will take until October for him to be fully fit to return. Fenerbahçe can't sign Osimhen. He's fallen in love with the club and Istanbul. If he had chosen money, he would have gone to Al-Hilal anyway," he said.
