City rallied like they always do through late goals from substitutes Julian Alvarez and Jeremy Doku, to take all three points.

The victory sent the ex-Barcelona boss to 103 wins, leaving Ferguson behind on 102.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti remains the manager with the most Champions League wins with 108 and Guardiola will have his sights set on claiming sole ownership of that record.
