Following the conclusion of the opening day of the 2026 World Athletics Relays in Gaborone, Botswana on Saturday, attention shifts to the second and final day on Sunday.

There was plenty of drama on Saturday as various teams booked a place in the finals of the six events being contested with Team Kenya securing a ticket to the 4x400m Mixed relay final as well as next year’s Championships.

With 12 teams already assured a place at the 2027 World Championships, more will hope to do the same in the second and final qualification round on Sunday.

There will also be a chance to win medals with a ticket to the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championships also at stake on Sunday.
