Tottenham Hotspur’s interim coach, Christian Stielini believes they can achieve a top four finish if they play all their remaining games with a positive mindset.

Things at Tottenham have been far from plain-sailing this season after manager Antonio Conte was sacked following the Lillywhite’s 3-3 draw with relegation-threatened Southampton

“We have to play eight final games like eight finals,” he said, “We started with Brighton and now we have 8 games and now we have to play attacking football by trying to push forwards to create more chances,” he added.

Tottenham fans have been less pleased with the 'negative football' that has been on display for large parts of the season under Conte. Stielini insists that Spurs have to be more adventurous.

“We have to get more shots on target to create something that can create a good atmosphere in the stadium and also to get behind us, the ground.”

The cautious approach to games has limited the effectiveness of Spurs' attacking players, including Heung-Min Son.

Whenever Son is played on the left wing, he and Perisic often get into each other’s spaces when attacking.

Son’s combination play outside the box is not one of his strongest suits. These factors often lead to both players invading each other’s spaces and poor ball retention on the left-hand side.

Stielini believes that the change in approach can get him back playing his best football.

“We have to find spaces, as Sonny did well in the last game but it is not one thing we can control alone. We have to find the right solutions to create chances for him, Harry, the wing-backs, Kulusevski, Danjuma, and all the players playing at the moment with different characteristics.”
