An important win for Alcaraz who hasn't dropped a set at this tournament, and it's his first win over Auger-Aliassime (the only player on tour to beat him in their first three meetings), and his first top 10 wins since the US Open final (now 13-9 vs. top 10 players).

Also, with this quarterfinal victory against Auger-Aliassime, he claimed a 26th win at ATP Masters 1000 level, moving into second for wins as a teenager ahead of Denis Shapovalov (25), and only trailing Rafael Nadal (49).

He has become only the second player to make multiple semifinals as a teenager in Indian Wells men's singles history. The only other player to achieve this feat is Andre Agassi - 1988 & 1990.

Alcaraz will face Jannik Sinner in the semifinal on Saturday, who made history by becoming the first Italian to reach the semifinals of the Indian Wells.

It will be their first clash since their epic US Open quarterfinal, which Alcaraz won.
