On Thursday, January 30, 2025, CAF celebrated the last edition of the AFCON held in Morocco.

A statement to celebrate the event was a message that said, "Throwing it back to the last #TotalEnergiesAFCON game played in Morocco dating back to 1988. 🇨🇲✖️🇳🇬

"Can you recall the score?"

It turns out the last AFCON game played in Morocco was the final between the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The game was played on March 27, 1988, at the Stade Mohamed V, Casablanca.

There were no goals in the first half, however, in the 55th minute Emmanuel Kundé scored the only goal of the game as Cameroon defeated Nigeria 1–0.
