BUL edges tight encounter to send another strong message as serious title challengers
BUL FC yet again sent out a strong statement of intent after narrowly beating Busoga United in the Uganda Premier League 1-0 in the Jinja derby at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Thursday.
Talisman, Alex Kitata yet again showed his goal-scoring prowess, as his goal proved the decider on the evening.
BUL are now six points clear of second-placed Kitara FC, as they sit atop with 32 points.
They are eight ahead of third-placed Vipers SC, who have played a game less and visit seven-time champions Express FC on Saturday at Wankulukuku.
Today's victory for BUL followed their crunch 3-2 win over Vipers at Kitende last week, another game that asserted their quest for silverware.
They will seek similar results in their first game of 2024 as they visit their other neighbour, Gaddafi FC, on January 3.
On the other hand, Busoga United stayed 13th on the 16-team table with just 12 points out of a possible 39.
They will host current runners-up Kitara FC in Njeru for their next match on January 2.
