On Monday's final matchday of the 2023 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) Phase at Murtala Muhammad Square, rookie Ibom BSC upset league leaders Kada BSC in penalties to earn its first point of the campaign.

Kada Stars were led by Dozie Frank's two goals and Clement Egunjimi's lone goal, but Ibom BSC, led by Abdulazeez Fatai's two goals and Effiong Eyo's single goal, forced Kada to a 3-3 draw after extra time.

In penalty shootouts, Ibom BSC made all six of its attempts, while Kada BSC missed one of their attempts by Momoh Sani, which allowed Fatai to make the game-winning attempt.

At the same location, Nmanko Patigi BSC beat Kebbi United BSC 3-2 to end the Phase successfully.

The Kwara State base team earned its second victory in League Phase 2 with to a brace from Kunle Jamiu and a goal from Azeez Lawal.

For Kebbi United BSC, which lost to Kebbi BSC on Sunday after a four-game unbeaten streak came to an end, Hassan Abdullahi and Umar Sadiq scored.

Prior to it, Kebbi BSC defeated Smart City BSC 3-0.

The third season's champions will be announced during Phase 3 of the NBSL.
