Xavi blames pitch for poor performance
Barcelona were held to a 0-0 draw gainst Getafe, their second consecutive goalless draw in four days and Xavi was not pleased with the condition of the playing surface.
The Blaugrana made it three straight games without scoring for the first time since 2008 and the alarm bells have started to ring.
Speaking after the match, Xavi took aim at the playing surface at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, claiming it prevented his side from playing their usual game.
“The state of the pitch hurt us,” he said.
“Yesterday, we trained with the dry field. It was very difficult to play on that, and it's bad for the show.”
Xavi: "Yesterday we tried training on a dry pitch in Barcelona. The grass really hurts us. It's bad, not only for us but also for Getafe. Look at Munir, who couldn't even shoot the ball..." pic.twitter.com/YHkgAWXfGI

“The ball gets stuck, it's bad even for Getafe. It is essential that it is in good condition. It's no excuse and we now have to recover.”
The result wasn't the only disappointment for the visitors as Sergi Roberto went off early in the match.
There are fears his season could be over and Xavi confirmed that the midfielder had suffered a hamstring injury.
“Sergi has noticed something in the hamstring. Let's see tomorrow. Hopefully it is only a short layoff, whether or not there is an injury.”
Big picture for Barca
There are only nine games left in La Liga and the result still means Barca have a significant lead of 11 points.
Real Madrid defeated Cadiz 2-0 on Saturday night to keep their faint title hopes alive.
