Odhiambo was unveiled at the club this week and started training on Thursday and on Saturday, he was celebrating his first goal on his maiden appearance.

Nejmah took on Beirut rivals Racing Club in a friendly match as they prepare for the league’s resumption and it is here that Odhiambo displayed his skills as his new team secured a 5-0 victory.

Odhiambo’s first goal was a memorable one as he curled in beautifully from a well-taken freekick just outside the box to put further gloss on the scoreline and announce himself to the Nejmeh faithful.

“First appearance… first impact. Austin Odhiambo is here ...The Rolls Royce has arrived,” Nejmeh posted on social media following the midfielder’s debut goal.

The former Gor Mahia playmaker has started his stint abroad in fine fashion and will hope to maintain that form when the second half of the season resumes with a top of the table clash against Al Ansar on January 18.

Al Ansar lead the 12-team table standings with 28 points, just two ahead of Nejmeh, who will go top if they secure victory in their first league match of 2026.

Odhiambo traded Gor Mahia for the nine-time Lebanese giants in a deal believed to be worth Ksh8 million paid to the record Kenyan champions.

With Kenyans Masud Juma and Anthony Akumu also at the club, the Harambee Stars trio will hope to fire the Beirut-based side to the league title, which they last won in 2024, before a fourth-place finish last season.
