Messi joined the team in 2023, continuing his illustrious career after a long spell at Barcelona and a brief stint with Paris Saint-Germain.

The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner and World Cup champion signed with David Beckham's side and has since been their best player.

However, Klich, who once played in the MLS side, has revealed that all is not well at the club.

What Klich said

Klich moved to the MLS, playing for DC United and Atlanta United. It was during his time in the United States that he formed a negative opinion of Messi's club.

"I don't recommend Miami as long as Messi is there," Klich said on the Foot Truck podcast. "It's a disaster."

"People are leaving, coaches and physiotherapists are leaving. Organisationally, it's bad," he continued. "Messi's father essentially runs the club.

“Everyone speaks Spanish, and nothing can be done without their consent. The club itself is also 45 to 50 minutes away from Miami.

"I would recommend New York," he said. "Red Bull has a better stadium now, but City is also building a great stadium. There are clubs like the Columbus Crew and Cincinnati that have great stadiums and a great base, but life there is very boring."

"I would recommend Nashville if you have the opportunity to go to Nashville, SC. It's a beautiful place, the capital of country music. Portland and Seattle have atmosphere, but it's the end of the world."

Messi has made a significant impact on the field for Inter Miami, scoring 64 goals and providing 31 assists in 76 appearances.

He has faced Klich only once, in a match in May 2024, though Klich has played against Miami on three separate occasions.
