The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a colossal total prize pool, reflecting a significant commitment to elevating the financial stability of the continent's national federations.

The total prize money set to be distributed among the 24 competing nations is an astounding $32 million. This monumental figure continues the trend of increased financial rewards implemented by the current CAF administration.

The strategic goal of this massive commitment is to enable them to invest in vital areas like infrastructure, youth development, and player support.

The tournament will run from Sunday, December 21, 2025, to Sunday, January 18, 2026, a highly anticipated mid-season schedule that will see the continent's best players vie for the title across six major Moroccan cities, Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, Marrakesh, Agadir, and Fes.

The most coveted prize, both in terms of prestige and finance, is reserved for the ultimate victor. The nation crowned the champion of Africa at the final in Rabat will pocket a massive $7 million.

For a team that progresses seamlessly through all stages, the cumulative total prize money earned can reach as high as $11.6 million. The runners-up will also receive a very significant financial reward, walking away with $4 million.

The two teams that reach the semi-finals but do not make the final will each secure a substantial $2.5 million. The four teams that advance to the quarter-finals will receive a significant boost, with each quarter-finalist earning $1.3 million.

Even making it into the knockout stages yields a substantial reward, as the eight teams that lose in the Round of 16 will each walk away with $800,000.

Even those teams exiting at the group stage receive vital funding. The two eliminated best third-placed teams will secure $700,000 each, and the six teams finishing fourth in their respective groups will receive $500,000 each.

This structured payout ensures that every team featuring in the AFCON 2025 receives a minimum of half a million dollars for their participation.
