A new Pryce is blazing the track: Shelly-Ann's son Zyon wins 2 gold medals on school's sports day
Five-time world's fastest woman Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce couldn't hide her excitement as her son Zyon blazed the track and won two gold medals on his school's sports day.
Fraser-Pryce announced this with a lovely post on her Instagram page, showing footage of her son and husband's overall performance - an improvement on how they made the Pryce family proud, after an underwhelming outing last year which needed her bailing.
"A year makes a difference. Happy to report the team did good this year, and I didn’t even have to run because my squad finished strong!!! Just listen to my excitement and extraness 😂 ," wrote the Jamaican track legend.
"We won the tug-of-war
Jason got a bronze medal ( told him he needed more speed work but ok.😂)
Zyon got 2 gold medals 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾. 2 other races that I’m not mentioning cause them nuh run at Olympics 😂😂," she added.
"I kept telling him leading up to the race that the most important thing was that he did his best and he told me “no mommy, I want to win this time” 🙌🏾🙌🏾 and that’s exactly what he did. Go Zyon!!! A new Pryce is blazing the track 🚀."
Last year, Fraser-Pryce needed to bail her family out by running in the parent's 100m dash - a comic clip that went viral on her crushing her competitors.
This time, she didn't need to be the saving grace as her son and husband (Jason) got the job done but affirmed they still needed some speed training.
It remains to be seen if Zyon will follow in her mother's footsteps as a future speedster or become a soccer player as he has also shown great talent in playing football.
