The Kenya Lionesses continued their ruthless march through the Rugby Africa Women’s 7s tournament, brushing aside Ghana 37-0 in a commanding display at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday to advance to the quarter-finals, where they will face Zambia.
Kenya wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Grace Okulu opening the scoring after a flowing passage of play. She added the extras herself, handing the hosts a quick 7-0 advantage.
The Lionesses maintained their early momentum, and Freshia Awuor soon touched down for the team’s second try, although the conversion attempt drifted wide.

Kenya Lionesses mauled Ivory Coast in their first game of the Rugby Africa Women's 7s tournament taking place at Ngong Road's RFUEA Grounds on Saturday afternoon.
Sheila Chajira then extended Kenya’s lead, powering through Ghana’s defensive line to make it 17-0 as the Lionesses tightened their grip on the match.
Janet Okello, who has been in superb form throughout the tournament, added to her growing tally with her fourth try of the competition to send Kenya into halftime with a commanding 22-0 lead.
The second half began exactly where the first left off — with Okello again crossing the whitewash for her fifth try of the tournament, stretching the score to 27-0 and all but sealing Ghana’s fate.
Maureen Muritu joined the scoring act, slicing through the defence to make it 32-0, though the conversion attempt fell short.
The Lionesses capped off their dominant performance when Nelly Chikombe, continuing her impressive tournament run, scored the final try to seal a resounding 37-0 victory.
