The Round of 16 action is set to kick off on Saturday 25 March

Reigning Enterprise Cup champions Kabras Sugar RFC host Kenya Harlequins as the wounded lion of KCB RFC take on Western Bulls in the Round of 16 action slated for Saturday 25 March.

Doubts however linger over the matches kicking off with a number of sides set to profit from walkovers despite the tournament commencement being pushed from Saturday 18 March.

Reports indicate that six teams are set to hand walkovers with only two matches set to go ahead as scheduled, though there is yet to be official confirmation.

Only Blak Blad’s encounter against Catholic Monks and Impala Saracens versus Mean Machine are expected to be played this weekend.

A number of sides issued various reasons for dishing out walkovers with some noting that most of their players are on national team duty with the Kenya Simbas.

The Simbas are currently in camp as they step up their preparations for the Currie Cup First Division where they will kick off their campaign against Boland Cavaliers on April Fools.

Oilers who are yet to win any silverware in the 15’s version of the game are looking to land their hands on the Enterprise Cup according to head coach Gibson Weru and are set to stroll to the quarters with Homeboyz set to give a walkover.

“As a club, we are really determined to chase some silverware and that starts against Homeboyz, a team that can give you problems on a good day. We have had a couple of weeks' rest since dropping out of Kenya Cup contention in the semis and the boys really want to win.

It is a campaign where we have put in a lot of hard work, effort, and resources have been pumped in so the boys feel that they have to get something to show for this season. The energies have been high, the concentration has been good so yeah, we want to give it a good shot and see how well we can compete against Homeboyz,” said Weru.
