Elsewhere, Newbies Post Bank turned the tables as they dominated the match against Nairobi Water to win 3-0.

Former champions Kenya Prisons on Sunday, March 19 stunned African Champions Kenya Commercial Bank 3-0 as the second leg of the Kenya Volleyball Federation National Women’s League ended.

In the entertaining match played at the Nyayo National Stadium, Prisons won in straight sets of 25-19, 25-20, and 25-21 respectively.

In a post-match interview after their opening match win yesterday, Saturday, Prisons head coach Josp Barasa had sounded warning shots to their opponents. He noted that they are keen on reclaiming the title they relinquished to Kenya Pipeline, the reigning champions.

The Wardessers won 3-0 in straight sets of 25-17, 25-12 and 25-12 in their match against Post Bank.

“Our match against Post Bank was not that tough but I am happy we have bagged three points. Last season, we didn’t perform that well but I can assure you that this year we are back on course. We want to improve on our third-place finish,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kenya Pipeline maintained their winning streak that saw them shock Kenya Army 3-0 in straight sets of 25-12, 25-16, and 25-14. In their match played on Saturday against Nairobi Water, they also won in straight sets of 25-12, 25-19, and 25-17.

Newbies Post Bank today have turned the tables as they dominated the match against Nairobi Water to win 3-0 in straight sets of 25-15, 27-25 and 25-19.
