Following Leverkusen's historic home win over Mainz 05 on Saturday, Lordlamba took to social media to congratulate one of the"new kings" Boniface after Die Werkself set a new German benchmark to stretch their lead atop the league table.

"Mad love for my bro @boniface," Lordlamba wrote on Facebook alongside pictures of Boniface, the injured Leverkusen striker who watched from the stands as his club wrote their name in German football folklore and other Leverkusen stars.

With Lordlamba in attendance at the BayArena, Leverkusen's victory also had fellow Nigerian Tella join the action as a second-half substitute. The win edged Leverkusen, spearheaded by Xabi Alonso, ever closer to a first Bundesliga title since 1993.

Comedian Lordlamba revelled in seeing his compatriots Boniface and Tella become part of a record-breaking side as dominant Leverkusen now stand on the brink of title glory.

Super Eagles’ striker Boniface played an important role in Leverkusen’s remarkable, despite missing the historic win against Mainz due to an injury.

The 23-year-old was Bayer’s contributor-in-chief in the Bundesliga with 10 goals and seven assists before he picked up an injury while on AFCON 2023 duty with Nigeria.

Boniface is already in rehabilitation after going under the knife to fix his injured knee. He’s expected to be out for three months.
