The youngster faces a challenge from more experienced forwards in the team.

Sofapaka's new signing Wassi Ngala Kenga has expressed his desire to fight for a place in Batoto ba Mungu's starting lineup.

The 2009 Premier League champions acquired the services of Kenga from Division 2 outfit Karatina Super Stars in the mid-season transfer window for an undisclosed fee.

Kenga made his Sofapaka debut on Wednesday as a second-half substitute where he gave a promising performance in the match against Gor Mahia.

The youngster faces competition for his place up front from former Vihiga United marksman Alex Imbusia, Congolese Roddy Manga, and Nigerian Sunday Ikekhai.

“I am happy because that was my first appearance for the club in the top-flight league. I was super nervous before entering the pitch but I picked positives from the game.

At least I have tasted how the top flight is and am grateful for the trust the coach has put on me. Now I am getting ready and I can say I am prepared for our next game,” he said.

Kenga was handed the No. 60 jersey at Batoto ba Mungu which was made famous by David Kasirye among others.

The youngster could make the starting team when Sofapaka meet their old nemesis Tusker at Ruaraka Grounds on Sunday.

The Batoto ba Mungu have been looking for some consistency at the back and there are positives to take from the past four matches, with the club conceding less.

They will be determined to keep another clean sheet when they take on the Brewers and complement it with a victory to enhance their chances of a top-eight finish.

In defense, David Nshirimana, Dickson Omondi, and Emmanuel Otieno have been doing well and they are likely to form the same partnership against Tusker.

In midfield, Ben Stanely Omondi has been perfect and looks set to play with Sunday Ikhekhi.

Tusker will enter into the game as the favorites having beaten AFC Leopards 1-0 in their last league match.
