Sam Nyamweya has called for urgent meeting to address Shabana poor performance and prevent relegation from FKF Premier League.

Shabana FC patron Sam Nyamweya has issued a clarion call for an urgent crisis meeting to address the club's dismal performance in the Premier League.

This call to action comes as the Kisii-based team teeters on the brink of relegation currently occupying a precarious position second from the bottom of the 18-team table with just 18 points.

Nyamweya's concern for the team's future was palpable in his statement where he stressed the critical state of affairs.

"We seem to be having a crisis in Shabana as you are aware, due to the poor performance of the team which, if no action is taken, will have the team relegated," he expressed, highlighting the urgency of the situation.

In a decisive move, Nyamweya has engaged with club chairman Jared Nivaton, impressing upon him the importance of addressing the issue without delay.

The proposed meeting, scheduled for Wednesday 21st February 2024 at 4:00 pm at Hill Park Hotel, aims to bring together the management team to forge a path forward and salvage the team's status in the top flight.

This season's performance has been far from satisfactory for Shabana, with the team managing only four wins, suffering 12 defeats, and settling for six draws.

The gap between survival and relegation is narrow, with Shabana trailing three points behind Kariobangi Sharks, who are just above them in the safety slot.

Nyamweya's plea for unity and action is a testament to his dedication to the club's success.

Reflecting on previous management meetings, he reminded officials of the commitments made to support the team.

"You are also aware that we had a management meeting late last year which you attended and agreed on the way forward to support the team," Nyamweya stated, underscoring the need for follow-through on those agreements.

With the season nearing its end, every match becomes a do-or-die affair for Shabana.

The management's ability to come together, diagnose the team's issues, and implement effective strategies will be critical in the fight to avoid relegation.
