Harambee Stars forward Masoud Juma’s future at Iranian club Esteghlal is still undecided and it could be down to a former Real Madrid and AC Milan star.

Harambee Stars striker Masoud Juma’s future at Iranian club Esteghlal has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks with reports in Iran claiming he could leave at the end of the season.

Juma signed a short-term deal at Esteghlal late last December with his contract set to end at the conclusion of this season, although the club has an option to extend for another year.

However, the extension was pegged on his performances but an injury has limited his output as he has managed just two goals in 14 games, leading to reports that the club will look to offload him.

Juma’s future will now not just be decided by the club bosses but will also have an input from former Ajax Amsterdam, Real Madrid and AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf who has joined Esteghlal as a consultant.

As per Iranian outlet Islamic Republic News Agency, Seedorf has agreed to work with Esteghlal general manager Ali Nazari-Juybari and will assist the club’s hierarchy is selecting the next coach and which players to release and to bring in.

That means the Dutch legend will be among the decision-makers in the fate of Juma and some of his team-mates whose futures are up in the air at the end of the current campaign.

Regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all-time, Seedorf had a glittering playing career and remains the only player to have won the UEFA Champions League with three different clubs, doing so with Ajax in 1995, with Madrid in 1998 and with Milan in both 2003 and 2007.

Esteghlal are looking to lean on the knowledge and experience of Seedorf, also a former coach of Milan, Deportivo La Coruna and Cameroon, as they look to return to their glory days as they are guaranteed not to finish higher than a disappointing eighth place finish in the league this season.
