Odada was instrumental in helping AalBorg see out their dramatic 3-2 win over Fredericia to keep their automatic promotion chances high.

Harambee Stars midfielder Richard Odada helped AalBorg get all the three points against Fredericia in a Danish second league division clash that took place on Friday evening.

Odada came on as an 84th minute sub with the manager intent on using his tempo-controlling abilities to see out their lead, and he did a good job to maintain it.

In the third minute, the AaB defense blocked an attempted finish from Adam Jakobsen, but  the return ball went to Sofus Berger, who from the edge of the box put FC Fredericia ahead 1-0 on a

After 17 minutes AaB were able to equalize. Diego Caballo sent a free kick to the right of the box, where captain Rasmus Thelander rose effortlessly and aimed a perfect header into the opposite corner of the goal behind a carefree Mattias Lamhauge.

In the 27th minute, AaB went ahead 2-1 thanks to a goal by Mathias Jørgensen. Melker Widell was played completely free on the left wing, and with a sharp cross to the back post, the Swede found Mathias Jørgensen, who found the back of the net from close range in just his second AaB appearance.

Just five minutes into the second half, the home team struck again with an early goal when Emilio Simonsen drove the ball forward into the AaB box, from where he found Christian Gammelgaard, who placed the ball into the back of the net at the far post to make it 2-2.

In the 66th minute, AaB's pressure paid off when Younes Bakiz hit a precise free kick directly onto the head  of a free Lars Kramer, who got the ball over the line to make it 3-2, a goal that was ultimately the winning one.

The victory means that Odada and his teammates now occupy first place in the NordicBet League with 45 points, which is two more than Sønderjyske in second place and 12 more than FC Fredericia in third place.

AaB’s next match in the NordicBet League will be played on Sunday 10 March at 15.00 at Aalborg Portland Park against Vendsyssel.
