The center-back lasted just two seasons at the club.

Nzoia Sugar FC defender Salim Hamisi has parted ways with the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) club after one year of service.

The 28-year-old joined the Sugar Millers in February 2022 from National Super League (FKFPL) side Kisumu All Stars where he played under current head coach Salim Babu.

A consummate professional, Hamisi confirmed his departure in a heartfelt statement on Tuesday morning.

"I have enjoyed a year being at Nzoia Sugar, learned so much from the people around, which has impacted my career positively. I wish to could have stayed here forever, but the time to say goodbye has come.

From the beginning, Nzoia has been my home far from home, and the atmosphere was always great. I will always appreciate the support and love I received from the supporters as well as the efforts and spirit from my teammates, technical bench, staff, and the management at large; you'll forever take a special place in my heart.

I wish to leave and wish the club all the best in the remaining part of the season and future. Asanteni Sana (Thank you, guys, so much)," said Hamisi.

Hamisi has been plagued by injuries this season, and he only returned to training five days ago after missing his club match against AFC Leopards and Kariobangi Sharks.

His leaving opens the door for the Western Kenya outfit to register a new player to strengthen the backline in the club's fight to win their maiden league title.

The burly defender has previously played for Posta Rangers and the defacunt duo of Western Stima and Sony Sugar FC.
