Simba wa Nairobi are looking forward to being Gor Mahia’s latest party poopers ahead of their clash on Sunday.

Nairobi City Stars head coach Nicholas Muyoti has warned Gor Mahia not to expect an easy game when his charges face the title challengers at the Kasarani Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

K’Ogalo will have everything to play for on Sunday, knowing that they will have to win to stand a chance of clinching the title for the first time since 2020 as anything otherwise could see Tusker easily retain the title with a win over Vihiga Bullets.

“We will approach that game like any other game,” he said. “It is always a motivating factor for my players when they are facing a big team so I am not worried how I will psyche them for the game,” he added.

“They already know that this is a big stage and they will show up. Gor should not expect an easy game. It is going to be a tough one. We will give it our best shot and hopefully, finish the season on a high.”

City Stars are currently 15th, having secured safety with a win over AFC Leopards in May at the Nyayo Stadium. After overcoming what has been a very difficult season, midfielder Peter “Pinchez” Opiyo says that they do not fear the threat posed by Gor Mahia.

“We will approach it like we do other games. I knew we would not get relegated. We have a good team with good structure on and off the ball. It will be important we stick to our principles.

“Of course Gor Mahia are contesting for the title. It will not be an easy game but we are ready for anything.”

Should City Stars beat or draw with Gor Mahia and Tusker beat Vihiga Bullets, Tusker will officially be crowned champions this season.

However, should Gor win, they will win the title regardless of the outcome of the Tusker-Bullets match. Muyoti’s charges know that they have a chance to poop the party for Gor Mahia.
