Kenya Police midfielder Kenneth Muguna has given reasons why winning the FKF Premier League crown with Kenya Police is more special than previous titles.
Kenya Police midfielder Kenneth Muguna won his fourth Kenyan league title in the just-concluded season but he seems to cherish the latest one more than the other three.
Muguna was part of the Police team that surprisingly moved from relegation places in November 2024 to title triumph in June 2025 after a remarkable turnaround under their Burundian coach Etienne Ndayiragije.
The law enforcers pipped Gor Mahia and Tusker, who were also in the running, to win their first-ever FKF Premier League crown and this holds a special place in Muguna’s heart despite winning three titles with K’Ogalo during his stint at the club between 2016 and 2021.

Ex Gor Mahia Captain Kenneth Muguna on Why 24/25 Title Win With Police is The ‘Toughest’ of His Career
Although he had won three league titles with Gor Mahia before, Kenya Police midfielder Kenneth Muguna has explained why his maiden one with Kenya Police was the toughest one yet.
“It was really special because this club has never won the Premier League title and me being part of this history is something I cherish. It started off as a dream and now we have achieved it,” Muguna told Telecomasia.net.
“We were pushed by this dream and had a very passionate fanbase and management behind us and this were crucial to help us deliver the title. We also had a good caliber of players who withstood the pressure and brought that much needed experience in the fight.”
The midfielder, who has attributed the title triumph to the unity and calmness brought to the club by Ndayiragije, understands Police will now be the target for everyone next season but feels they are built well to withstand the pressure and defend their crown.

“Definitely we know next season, every team will want to beat us because we are the champions. But this is a challenge we are ready for. We will not just be one-time champions but we want to make this a tradition,” he added.
“We will be competing very strongly again and the ambition is to be back-to-back champions. We never stop dreaming and we never stop aiming high. We hope the management will keep supporting us like they have, we hope to build an even stronger team and we will be here to fight for glory.”
Winning the Premier League has earned Police a ticket to the CAF Confederation Cup next season and he knows it will not be easy, given how Kenyan clubs struggle to get past the preliminary rounds.

Stay Home If You Can't Take a Draw - Kenneth Muguna Reacts After Gor Mahia Fans Clash With Rivals
Gor Mahia's goalless draw against Murang'a Seal intensified the Premier League title race but was overshadowed by acts of fan violence.
Police got a taste of this already last season when their CAF Confederation Cup journey ended as soon as it started but Muguna feels they can go one better next term.
“We will be representing the country and we have to do it in the best way possible. Even as we are taking our holidays, our minds and thoughts are fixed on doing well in continental level and everyone is locked in to go on and give a good account of themselves,” said Muguna.
“Our aim is to try and make the group stages because last season in the Confederation Cup, we failed to make it past the second round. As a player who has played in this competition before, I know with good planning, it is a possible dream.”
