Abana Abeingo have struggled in front of goal this season.

Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Patrick Odhiambo has made no secret that he is looking to enforce his side’s striking department.

Homeboyz have struggled to win matches this season compared to recent campaigns and have only managed six wins out of 17 games that they have played.

Though the team won their latest fixture, 1-0 against Vihiga Bullets, Odhiambo believes he must strengthen the attacking area when the transfer window opens.

“We will try and get players to boost our attack in the transfer widow. In the past two matches, we failed to convert so many scoring chances, and we must look for good players who can score,” he said.

Odhiambo also explained why his side struggled to get a win against the bottom-placed Bullets on Saturday.

“The match against Vihiga was very tough, and any of the two teams could have won the game. We collected the three points, and we thank God,” he added.

Homeboyz were desperate to snap their three-match winless run in the league after dropping points when they were held to a goalless draw by Nairobi City Stars in the previous game.

Abana Abeingo are scheduled to face Ulinzi Stars in their next game, with Odhiambo emphasizing the importance of the clash.

“Next game is an important match for us because we are not in a good position on the table thus, we will need to fight hard and take maximum points home,” he concluded.

Odhiambo was appointed Homeboyz coach a fortnight ago, replacing John Baraza, who was shown the door following a series of poor results.

Homeboyz have managed 19 goals in the 17 matches and are currently sitting in eighth position with 25 points.
