Kenyan-born Kamau shone as Perth Glory faced Sydney FC's challenge in an Australian A-League match played at HBF Park on Wednesday afternoon.

Kenyan-born winger Bruce Kamau featured for 46 minutes as Perth Glory battled Sydney FC to a one-all draw in an intense Australian A-League clash on Wednesday afternoon.

Kamau, named in the starting line-up, showcased his prowess on the field before being replaced by Jarrod Carluccio at the start of the second half.

The game took a dramatic turn when Joe Lolley opened the scoring for Sydney FC from the penalty spot.

However, momentum shifted in favour of Perth Glory after a red card was shown to Sky Blues' teenager Jake Girdwood-Reich just before halftime.

With the numerical advantage, Glory defender Kaelan Majekodunmi leveled the score with a powerful header in the second half.

Despite dominating possession, Perth could not convert their opportunities into goals, leaving both teams with a point.

The draw saw Sydney FC climb above Macarthur FC into fourth place, thanks to their hard-earned point on the road.

Sydney FC's impressive unbeaten streak at HBF Park continued, with their last loss at the venue dating back to January 2019.

The match was not without controversy, as referee Alex King's decisions came under scrutiny.

A lengthy VAR review resulted in Girdwood-Reich being shown a red card for a challenge on Adam Taggart, reducing Sydney FC to 10 men.

However, Perth's hopes of capitalising on the numerical advantage were dashed when a penalty appeal by Carluccio was denied by the referee following another VAR review.

Despite their frustrations, Perth Glory's resilience was evident as Majekodunmi's header restored parity in the game.

Both teams had opportunities to secure victory late in the match but solid goalkeeping from Andrew Redmayne kept the score level.
