Omondi, who has scored two goals and recorded four assists in 11 league games this season for UTA Arad, played a role in helping them get yet another win.

Harambee Stars midfielder Eric Johanna Omondi produced a creative display having come off the bench at half time as UTA Arad battled to a 3-2 win over Arădeni on Saturday afternoon.

Omondi came on as a halftime substitute and did okay, producing two key passes and creating one big chance which helped UTA keep their championship round place alive.

Omondi has scored two goals and recorded four assists in 11 league games this season.

The hosts opened the scoring through Joao Pedro, in the 13th minute, but the visitors restored the tie through Juan Bauza, in the 22nd minute. 

Arădeni took the lead again six minutes later, after Cladiau Micovschi's successful goal. 

Three minutes before the end of the first half, the Oltenians scored once more through Andrei Dragu. It was 2-2 at halftime.

In the second half, Andrej Fabry scored from a shot from 11 meters, in the 63rd minute, setting the final score, 3-2.

Following Saturday's result, UTA Arad accumulated 40 points, while FCU Craiova remained with 31.

Born on August 18, 1994, in Nairobi, Kenya, Johana commenced his football journey in his homeland with Mathare United.

His European venture began in the Swedish championship, where he played for Vasalunds IF, Brommapojkarna, and Jönköpings Södra.

His footballing odyssey also took him to Belgium, representing Beveren, before making the move to Muangthong United in Thailand in July 2022, where he left an indelible mark with an impressive goal tally.
