K’Ogalo made a return to winning ways following a 2-0 victory against Sofapaka in Machakos on Wednesday.

Gor Mahia moved to fourth place on the FKF Premier League table following a 2-0 victory over Sofapaka at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Wednesday.

Gor Mahia profited from some poor goalkeeping and defending from Sofapaka to collect all three points with Geoffrey ‘Simiti’ Ochieng giving them a 14th minute lead before Shariff Musa made the points safe in the second half.

Ochieng headed home from Enock Morrison’s freekick after Sofapaka goalkeeper Evans Ouma failed to claim the ball after coming off his line.

From then on, both teams struggled to break each other but Sofapaka had a couple of chances that were wasted by Baron Ochieng.

In the second half, Musa came close to adding the second when he brought in a ferocious shot that was punched out by Ouma for a corner with Ochieng also getting close again, this time round seeing his shot go directly at Kevin Omondi in the Gor Mahia goal.

Rogers Ouma also had an opportunity for Gor Mahia but shot over the bar moments before Musa scored the second.

The former Bidco United winger received the ball and fired a shot that hit the crossbar before the ball bouced back.

However, Sofapaka players protested the goal, claiming the ball did not cross the line, but the referee stood his ground.

It is how it ended as Gor Mahia bounced back to winning ways following last weekend’s 2-1 loss to Tusker FC, moving to fourth on the log with 27 points, six behind leaders Kenya Police.

Sofapaka, meanwhile, saw their six-game unbeaten run come to an end following the defeat, which leaves them sixth on the log with 24 points.
