Emran Soglo was educated at Chelsea's famous academy and also at West Ham United before his move to Marseille.

Trained in the famous Chelsea football academy at Cobham, Emran Soglo has written his name in the history books at Olympique Marseille.

Soglo was in superb form as Marseille and Metz served a four-goal thriller in a Ligue 1 clash at Stade Saint-Symphorien on Friday night.

The youngster, who joined Marseille's B team as a free agent last year, helped the giants to a share of the spoils following a 2-2 draw against Metz.

Metz vs Marseille: Brief

After a winning start to the new season that saw them beat Reims 2-1 at home the previous weekend, Marseille were hoping to consolidate on the road.

They travelled to Longeville-les-Metz to take on newly promoted Metz, who received a baptism of fire in their first game back at Rennes.

It did not take long for the visitors to make their intentions known when a miscued from former Premier League star at Arsenal and Chelsea, Aubameyang, fell kindly for Soglo who made no mistakes to fire from close range to put Marseille ahead at the break on his debut.

However, Metz responded superbly to going a goal down after the break with two goals in the space of six second-half minutes to completely turn things around in their favour thanks to goals from Cheikh Sabaly and Georges Milkautadze.

Marseille will respond eight minutes from time as Vitor Oliveira’s late goal ensured the visitors left with at least a share of the spoils.

The 18-year-old opened the scoring against Metz, with the goal seeing him become the youngest to net for the goal.

As per a post from Ligue 1 on X.com, Emran Soglo became the youngest Marseille player (18 years, 38 days) to score in Ligue 1 since Samir Nasri on 11 January 2005.
